Geisel donates to CAPPA

Professor Emeritus Paul Geisel has made a gift of $600,000 to support the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs.

Service Catalog update

On Thursday, Dec. 16, the Office of Information Technology is launching a simplified Service Catalog on ServiceNow. The updated platform will make it easier for you to find and submit requests for the needed service.

Academic integrity at UTA

The Office of Community Standards has tools and resources to help you talk to students about plagiarism, cheating, and other academic integrity issues. Visit go.uta.edu/honor-code to learn how to set clear expectations, recognize the signs, and understand the University’s referral process.

Vaccine clinic for ages 5 and older Saturday

UTA has a COVID‑19 vaccine clinic for ages 5 and older 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in room 100B of the Maverick Activities Center.

The free walk‑in‑only clinic is open to UTA employees, students, and their dependents and family members.

The clinic offers first and second doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, as well as booster doses for eligible individuals.

COVID-19 testing

UTA offers COVID-19 testing at two locations on campus.

Symptom-free individuals seeking proactive testing or required testing can be tested in the Carlisle Suite of the University Center. Appointments are required. The testing site will be closed Friday, Dec. 24-Sunday, Jan. 2.

Individuals with symptoms should make an appointment at the testing site in the College Park District. The testing site will be closed Friday-Sunday, Dec. 24-26, and Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 1-2.

Encourage students to plan for spring

Remind students to register for spring 2022 and customize a semester that will maximize their goal-getting time. Students who register early can take the classes that count toward their major and best fit their schedules.

2021 Arlington Holiday Lights Parade Dec. 11 6 p.m. Downtown Arlington

Holiday Lights Parade

Bring your friends and family to downtown Arlington for the annual Holiday Lights Parade Saturday, Dec. 11. Entertainment begins at 3:30 p.m., with the parade starting at 6 p.m.

UTA's festive float will include UTA Interim President Teik and Gina Lim, along with a host of spirited students, followed by the UTA Marching Band.

The pageantry will end with the lighting of the Christmas tree on the steps of City Hall.

Kringle Village Holiday Hoedown

Everyone knows Santa’s elves love to sing and dance, but at The Kringle Village at Knapp Heritage Park they do it with a modern Texas flair. The hoedown is every Friday-Sunday through Dec. 19.

Enjoy an Old West take on Santa’s elves having a Holiday Hoedown as they get Santa’s Texas sleigh ready for the Southwestern leg of his magical Christmas Eve trip.

Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for a 90 minute open-air musical celebration.​

Holiday Recycling Guide

Holiday recycling nice and naughty lists

Recycling during the holiday season is a must but even the most ardent recyclers need to know what belongs in that bin, what should be reused and what, unfortunately, must go in the trash can.

UTA’s Sustainability Committee relied on the University’s recycling partner, Balcones Resources, to develop nice and naughty lists for the holiday season recycling.

Glass art sale preview

Faculty and staff will have a preview of the Annual Holiday Glass Sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at the Studio Arts Center. On Saturday Dec. 11, the sale is open to the public 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will include live glassblowing demonstrations.

New UTA ornaments are available through the UTA Bookstore. Find unique holiday gifts at the store and online.

Panther City Lacrosse

Join your fellow Mavericks at UTA Night with Panther City Lacrosse as the team takes on the Vancouver Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Tickets start at $15.

Tri-C Food Pantry

The Tri-C/UTA Food Pantry still needs many items for special holiday bags to help students through the winter break. Bring food items or give a financial donation. Drop off donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 405 W. 1st St. For more details, email tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com.
