Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic at MAC
|
UTA has scheduled three more on-campus vaccine clinics to give you and your family convenient, free access to the Pfizer vaccine. This includes first and second doses for all individuals 12 years and older and booster doses for eligible individuals.
Clinics will be held on a walk-in-only basis 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Group Exercise Room (101B) in the Maverick Activities Center. The clinics are Wednesday, Nov. 3; Wednesday, Nov. 17; and Wednesday, Dec. 1.
If you’ve been vaccinated, check the CDC’s guidelines for booster shots to see if you’re eligible and if you should make plans to get one.

Leadership in Community Policing Award
|
The UTA Police Department received the Leadership in Community Policing Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police and Walmart for the department’s Active Threat community education program.
The program consists of a video and interactive Canvas module designed to educate members of the community about response options for Active Threat events and behaviors of concern that can be warning signs of potential violence. University Advancement, the Office of Information Technology (OIT), and other partners collaborated on the program.

Weidong Zhou, professor of electrical engineering, helped the Electrical Engineering Department add a powerful tool that will enhance its abilities to work with integrated photonics in its top-notch nanophotonics program.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion hosts a discussion of the cultures, histories, present-day concerns, and contributions of Native people in a hybrid event noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2. Register to attend the in-person event; lunch will be provided.

|
Panera Bread in College Park District joined Maverick Dining this fall. Dining Dollars are accepted. Faculty and staff can place catering orders through Maverick Catering.

Compost your pumpkin
|
Drop off your pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns at the UTA Compost Site so they can be composted and used to enrich the plants and landscape on our campus. The event is 3-4 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 2-3. Volunteer to help.

Tri-C Food Pantry
|
The Tri-C Food Pantry needs shelf-stable milk (cow's, oat, almond, soy), canned vegetables, granola bars, sanitary pads, laundry detergent, and cooking oil. Drop off donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 405 W. 1st St. For more details, email tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com.
