On-campus vaccine clinic next week

The next free, walk-in-only, on-campus COVID‑19 vaccination clinic is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the exercise rooms of the Maverick Activities Center. If you can’t make it, find another vaccine opportunity.

Upload proof of vaccination to the COVID-19 Self Report portal in MyMav by Monday, Oct. 4, to be eligible for prizes in the Maverick Motivator Program.

Random mandatory testing starts Monday

Beginning Monday, Sept. 13, students, faculty, and staff coming to any UTA campus in any capacity will be selected at random for mandatory COVID-19 testing.

UTA will end its reduced-density classes and pivot to primarily in-person instruction by no later than Monday, Sept. 20.

Presidential search town hall

The UT System chancellor and the Presidential Search Advisory Committee will host a Town Hall meeting 4-5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, in Room 298 of the Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building.

Honoring 9/11 heroes

UTA Police Detective Michelle Stellato participated in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sept. 4. The climb honors public safety professionals and local heroes who climbed 110 floors in the World Trade Center buildings on Sept. 11, 2001.

9/11 Memorial exhibit

September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed the World is an educational exhibition that tells personal stories through posters. photographs, and images of artifacts. The exhibit is on display on thr fourth floor of the Central Library through Thursday, Sept. 30.

Crowded airspace

Kamesh Subbarao, professor of aerospace engineering, is examining the complexities involved in adding aerial taxis, delivery drones, and other unmanned aerial vehicles to the already crowded airspace over the United States.

Preventing arc flashes

David Wetz, professor of electrical engineering, is working to prevent arc flashes in batteries used in Navy laboratories and ships.

The University Club has an all-you-care-to-eat buffet with a different daily menu of entrees, salads, soups, and desserts, including vegetarian and vegan options. Hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday starting Thursday, Sept. 9.

Center bridge maintenance

The center bridge over Cooper Street will be closed to all pedestrian traffic 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, for maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.
