COVID-19 Testing with vial

Today last chance for required testing

Appointments for free on-campus COVID-19 testing are available through 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 8.

All employees who come to any UTA campus in any capacity, regardless of vaccination status, are required to submit a viral test by the end of the day.

On-campus test results are automatically reported. Off-campus test results must be uploaded to the COVID‑19 Self Report portal in MyMav.

On-campus vaccine clinic next week

The next free, walk-in-only, on-campus COVID‑19 vaccination clinic is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the exercise rooms of the Maverick Activities Center. If you can’t make it, find another vaccine opportunity.

Upload proof of vaccination to the COVID-19 Self Report portal in MyMav by Monday, Oct. 4, to be eligible for prizes in the Maverick Motivator Program.

Updates to classroom density, required COVID-19 testing

UTA will end its reduced-density classes and pivot to primarily in-person instruction by no later than Monday, Sept. 20.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 13, students, faculty and staff coming to any UTA campus in any capacity will be selected at random for mandatory COVID-19 testing.

Presidential search town hall

The UT System chancellor and the Presidential Search Advisory Committee will host a Town Hall meeting 4-5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, in Room 287 of the Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building.

Juneteenth new UTA holiday

UTA's holiday schedule now includes Emancipation Day, also known as Juneteenth, on Friday, June 17, 2022.

STEM partnership

Nur Yazdani, professor of civil engineering, will work with local high school STEM teachers to enhance their engineering research experience and help inspire their students to pursue engineering careers.

Yujie Chi, UTA assistant professor of physics, leads an interdisciplinary team in developing a new system to make the use of radiation in medical procedures safer for patients.

UTA Maverick Speakers Series Virtual with Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. guest on virtual Maverick Speakers Series

Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, literary scholar, and journalist Henry Louis Gates Jr. will discuss "Reconstruction and Voter Suppression" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, as part of UTA’s Virtual Maverick Speakers Series. The talk will be streamed at uta.edu/maverickspeakers and is free to watch. Sign up to receive a reminder email.

Dr. Gates is the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor and director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University.

Jason Shelton, associate professor of sociology and director of the Center for African American Studies, will moderate the event.

University Club to open

The University Club returns with an all-you-care-to-eat experience with a different daily menu of entrees, salads, soups, and desserts, including vegetarian and vegan options. Hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday starting Thursday, Sept. 9.

Center bridge maintenance

The center bridge over Cooper Street will be closed to all pedestrian traffic 9: 30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, for maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.

UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry
