COVID-19 vaccine comes to campus

UTA has established a partnership with OptumServe to provide all interested employees and students access to COVID‑19 vaccines at a convenient on-campus location and free of charge.

Effective today, Wednesday, May 5, OptumServe will be operating a COVID‑19 vaccination site 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday through June at the Physical Education Building at 801 Greek Row Dr. Learn more and register.

Light therapy

Bioengineering Professors Michael Cho and Hanli Liu are investigating whether a combination of nanoparticles and light therapy can better treat traumatic brain injuries on the battlefield.

Conduct hearing officers

The Office of Community Standards needs new volunteer hearing officers to assist with student conduct and academic integrity cases. For more details, contact Dayna Ford at dayna.ford@uta.edu or 817-272-7395 by Friday, May 21.

Tesla internship

Vikram Gupta, a graduate student in computer science who also works as a research assistant in the UTA FabLab, has landed a coveted internship at Tesla, the electric vehicle company.

The Office of Sustainability's first newsletter is filled with information on campus dining hydroponics, the new Food Recovery Network chapter, the UTA Libraries' Green Office project, and a review of Earth Day events. Sign up to receive the quarterly newsletter.

Diversity, inclusion survey

The deadline to complete the UTA Campus Climate Survey on diversity and inclusion has been extended to Friday, May 7. The survey takes about 15 minutes. Skip any question you do not feel comfortable answering. Your response is confidential.

Outstanding Maverick Awards

Nominate employees and teams who exemplify “being a Maverick” in all that they do for the Outstanding Maverick Awards. The deadline to submit the nomination form is Friday, May 21.
