Abbe D. Patton (’75 BS, Political Science) has created a $1 million bequest to benefit UTA’s College of Liberal Arts. The funds will support faculty fellowships and scholarships for first-generation students.

Drone competition
|
Students from UT Arlington, UT Dallas, and UT El Paso are demonstrating their own autonomously flying unmanned aerial systems at a drone showcase through Saturday, May 1, at UTA’s Maverick Stadium.

COVID-19 vaccine available to employees
|
Effective immediately, UTA is partnering with Texas Health to provide access to COVID‑19 vaccines for all interested students and employees. The vaccine is free and will be administered at six Texas Health Community Clinics around the DFW Metroplex.
These clinics are open to the public, but UTA employees and students have priority access. Texas Health is administering the Pfizer vaccine.

Food Pantry needs
|
The UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry needs canned vegetables, instant oatmeal (microwave packets), cereal, juice, and laundry detergent. Drop off donations 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 405 W 1st St. Email tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com for more details.

Street closure Saturday
|
Planetarium Place will be closed north of the Maverick Garage entrance 7 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 1, in order to place HVAC equipment on the roof of the Central Library. The ADA parking lot on the east side of the Library will be unavailable during this time.
