Design of new School of Social Work and Smart Hospital building.

New SSW, SMART Hospital building

The UT System Board of Regents on Thursday approved funding and design plans for a new building that will house both UTA’s School of Social Work and the College of Nursing and Health Innovation’s SMART Hospital.

The 150,000-square-foot facility is expected to cost $76 million, with construction beginning in early 2021.

The building will be located on the southeast part of campus in a new Health Sciences Quad, adjacent to the Science & Engineering Innovation & Research building, Life Science building, and Pickard Hall.

Classes move online after Thanksgiving

Will I have access to buildings on campus after Thanksgiving? Will the Maverick Activities Center be open? What proctoring tools can I use to administer a final exam?

These and many other questions are answered on the Employee FAQs, Post-Thanksgiving plans page.

The semester will end at the usual time, but there will be no in-person classes after the Thanksgiving break. Instead, all classes and exams will be online only.
