Alumna educator turns to rap to inspire, motivate
|
The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded Cora Garner, right, a 2018 UTA grad and current doctoral student, of how delicate—and crucial—the balance is between teaching content and building relationships.
She credits the College of Education with helping her know how to keep students engaged, motivated, and focused on their success. Often, it's through writing original rap songs for her English class.

TRIO program receives $2.16M award

UTA’s TRIO Student Support Services program will receive more than $2 million from a federal Student Support Services grant to help students succeed in and graduate from college.
TRIO programs benefit students like recent graduate Juana Escobedo Bermudez (pictured), a first-generation college student who said they “gave my parents and me the confidence we needed to succeed.”
