Education accolades

The College of Education received high rankings from U.S. News and World Report and Intelligent.com.

For U.S. News, the online master’s programs in education and those for veterans rose significantly. The University was No. 20 for best online master’s programs in curriculum and instruction, a new specialty ranking for 2020.

Intelligent.com ranked the curriculum and instruction, math education, science education, and educational leadership online master’s programs as best in the nation.

Leader in diversity

UTA again is among the nation’s leading four-year institutions in educating diverse, workforce-ready students, according to an annual report from Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine.

The University ranked No. 1 in Texas and No. 17 nationally for master’s degrees awarded to all minority students.

UTA also ranked first in Texas in the number of degrees earned by African American students at the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels.

Early voting returns to UTA

UTA again will be a Tarrant County early voting polling place for the March 3 Democratic and Republican primary elections. The site will be open Feb. 18-28.

Mileage rate change

The standard mileage reimbursement rate for 2020 travel has decreased from 58 cents per mile to 57.5 cents per mile. Questions? Call the Office of Disbursements at 817-272-2194.

Creator Fest travel

UTA faculty are encouraged to apply for a travel scholarship to attend Creator Fest 2020 in Houston on March 24-27. Apply online by Friday, Jan. 31.

Enrollment team meets future Mavericks

Troy Johnson and Michele Bobadilla recently talked about the benefits of a college education with fifth graders at Mill Street Elementary School in Lewisville.

The College Bound program aims to demystify college, plant the "opportunity seed" in grade school students, and promote the University in the region. The hands-on activities it provides support college awareness and include personnel from UTA's Recruitment, Outreach Services, and GO Centers.

Johnson is UTA vice president of enrollment management. Bobadilla is UTA senior associate vice president for outreach and community engagement and assistant provost for Hispanic student success.
