UTA offices are closed and summer intersession classes are on hiatus for Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Cheer law enforcement at Special Olympics torch run Friday
|
Join the campus community to celebrate UTA’s law enforcement and safety personnel during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics Texas' Summer Games at Maverick Stadium. Cheer on the processional during the last leg of the torch run at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, on Greek Row Drive. Arrive early and pick up your Maverick-themed merchandise and banners by the Physical Education Building.
The run ends in Maverick Stadium, where 2,910 athletes, 634 coaches, families, and friends will open the games for a weekend of competition.

Baseball Mavs No. 2 seed in SBC Championship tourney; Thomas SBC Coach of the Year
|
The Maverick baseball team plays at 11:30 a.m. (Central daylight savings time) Friday, May 26, in game 4 of the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship in Statesboro, Ga. Track, field athletes in NCAA preliminary rounds; Sauerhage named SBC Coach of the Year again

Eight women, seven men, and one relay team have earned berths in the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds for outdoor track and field. The competition is Thursday-Saturday, May 25-27, in Austin. LEARN MORE.

Tennis duo ready for NCAA doubles championship

Set a reminder on your calendar for the annual Benefits Fair at 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, July 18, in the second floor lounge of the Maverick Activities Center. Shop early at VIP event for international folk art market

The VIP event at the inaugural Santa Fe International Folk Art Market at Arlington gives guests a first opportunity to shop and enjoy the ambiance of “A Night in Old Havana.” Tickets are $150 for the evening, which is set for 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, June 16, and include admission to the market Saturday, June 17. The Short Line and the Market/Freshii in the University Center are open for business, but most campus eating locales are closed for a semester break. More on-campus dining spots will open starting Saturday, June 3. Bombay Chopstix, Pie Five, and Texadelphia are open in the College Park District. Starbucks at the UTA Bookstore is open, too.
