Mavericks aim for return to winning form
|
The UTA men’s basketball team, including junior guard Erick Neal at right, will look to get back into winning form Saturday, Jan. 14, when it travels to Alabama to face Troy University in a Sun Belt Conference contest.
Tipoff is 4:15 p.m. for the men's game. The Lady Mavs face Troy at 2 p.m.
Tickets to Saturday’s doubleheader are available for as low as $5 each through the Troy Athletic Ticket Office by calling (877) 878-WINS or purchasing online.
Both games will be streamed live on ESPN3, which is available at WatchESPN.com to most cable and satellite television subscribers.

VanDijk records 1,000th point Thursday
|
Junior center Rebekah VanDijk became the 18th player in Lady Maverick history to record 1,000 points. VanDijk, who helped lead UTA to a 73-49 win at the Mitchell Center on Thursday night, went over the 1,000-point mark late in the fourth quarter when she had a team-high 16 points and her 33rd-career double-double with 14 rebounds. VanDijk moved into eighth in UTA history with 712 career boards. LEARN MORE.

Deadlines near for Innovation Day participation
|
Research success and entrepreneurial excellence are highlights of InnovationDay@UTA, set for Monday, Feb. 6, in the University Center.
Faculty, staff, and students should reserve a spot in the research poster session by Friday, Jan. 20. They also can register for a five-minute Shark Tank-like business pitch by emailing innovationday@uta.edu with a brief description of the company, business model, and value proposition. A three-phase student competition for collegiate and high school teams has a Monday, Jan. 23, registration deadline.

New applicant tracking system implemented
|
The Office of Human Resources has implemented People Admin for job postings and applicant tracking. Jobs posted on UTAFLOW (Service-Now) will still be available until Monday, Feb. 6.
Pilot program participants were employees of Facilities Management, the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, UTA Libraries, and Global Education Outreach Extended Studies. LEARN MORE.

Mav Express will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 15, 22, and 29. Services offered include making and replacing student/faculty/staff ID cards.
UTA Bookstore extra hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14; noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16; 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 17-19; 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. Regular spring hours begin Monday, Jan. 23.
