UTA strengthens commitment to AISD students in need of mental health services
UTA is renewing its partnership with the Arlington Independent School District to provide free treatment for students who show signs of disorders or mental health issues. Guidance counselors who work for the school district refer students to the School of Social Work's Center for Clinical Social Work. Professor Alexa Smith-Osborne, the center's director, and her staff of licensed clinical social workers and master's-level interns and externs diagnose, counsel, and connect students with mental health professionals. Above, master's social work student Daphene Woods works as an intern in the play therapy room of the Center for Clinical Social Work. LEARN MORE.

Maverick Memories
Registration in the good ol' days involved waiting in long lines such as this one at Arlington State College in 1965. The routine usually meant graduate students registered before undergrads, seniors next, and freshmen last. Each group started with last names beginning with A, so woe to the Zimmermans and Zunigas who might have found that all classes were full.
