Thank you for your hard work, resiliency, adaptability, and patience during this challenging time. You have all displayed incredible commitment to our students and to the University as we have made the transition to online learning.
At UTA, we are known as innovators and thought-leaders; we are home to the greatest educators and brightest students. This transition has proven how true that is. Across our schools and colleges, I have seen incredible examples of faculty and staff finding unique ways to keep supporting our students to ensure they finish the semester or school year strong.
The coming months will present new challenges, and with those will come new opportunities for our community of scholars—albeit digitally for the time being. This summer, we have decided that we will continue to provide most of UTA’s learning experiences online.
We have already shown how we can adapt to changing circumstances, and I know that with our incredibly talented and dedicated team, UTA will continue to provide the highest level of learning and research experiences available for our students. To do this, we will have to keep meeting new challenges head-on, showing our students, the community, and the world how UTA overcomes difficulty: with excellence.
I ask each of you to join together in the days, weeks, and months ahead—while socially distancing, of course—with a renewed commitment to our students, to each other, and to our university. The work you are doing is critical for the future of our university as an urban research institution and for our current and prospective students in their pursuit of the education of both the mind and the heart.
Thank you for everything that you do. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything.
Sincerely,
Teik C. Lim, Ph.D. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
