You have Promise, You have a future

UTA and Red River Promise partner to build a more robust college-going culture, produce students ready to achieve their educational goals and provide trained graduates to strengthen our local and state-wide workforce. 

Red River Promise is a partnership of 14 high schools and college partners in Cook, Montague, and Young counties. First-year graduates from a participating Red River Promise high school or Red River Promise transfer students with an associate degree from North Central Texas College may receive funding through UTA’s Blaze Forward program. The Blaze Forward program provides students with funding to cover the cost of classes (tuition) through a combination of federal Pell Grant, TEXAS Grant, UTA grants and scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements 

Students must meet all eligibility requirements by the deadlines provided below.

1. Submit Red River Promise Pledge. 
2. Complete FAFSA or TASFA. and submit all verification documents by March 1.
3. Incoming first-year students must apply to UTA and submit all supporting admissions documents by
   February 15th.
   Incoming transfer students must apply to UTA and submit all supporting admissions documents by
   March 1st.
• Incoming transfer students are required to have an associate's degree from North Central Texas College to be eligible for Red River Promise.
4. Have a family adjusted gross income of $85,000 or less.
5. Must be eligible to receive funds through the Federal Pell Grant and/or Texas Grant programs.
6. Must be a Texas resident.
