DEGREE OVERVIEW
The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in University Studies is designed for students seeking options beyond the traditional university majors. This program features a range of academic disciplines that will prepare you for a variety of career paths or enhance your current career.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Students must complete 120 credit hours and have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average upon completing the course requirements. Of the 120 total hours, you must complete at least 36 advanced credit hours and meet residency requirements for completing a degree at UTA.

University Studies Online
The University Studies Online degree is housed within the Finish@UT program, a cross-campus collaborative program that offers completion degrees at each of the participating campuses (UT Rio Grande Valley, UT Tyler, UT El Paso, UT Permian Basin) and of course UTA. These fully online bachelor’s degree completion programs are designed to help you advance in your career, achieve your personal academic goals, and meet your standards of quality education. University Studies Online is a Bachelor of Science that provides students maximum flexibility to complete their degree. Students who have successfully joined the University Studies Online program are able to take advantage of a few key benefits:
- Students have access to all online courses from UTA (pending prerequisites) and from participating campuses (UTRGV, UTEP, UTPB), allowing for more options to complete degree requirements as quickly as possible.
- Courses taken at another participating campus can still fulfill UTA degree requirements for the University Studies Online degree program.
- Numerous five-week and eight-week courses are offered during the summer, fall, and spring semesters.
- Financial aid that is disbursed through UTA still applies toward costs associated with taking courses at another participating campus.
