Graduate Fellowships

The University of Texas at Arlington's competitive fellowship opportunities include packages with competitive graduate assistantships and 75-100% tuition remission. Students not classified as Texas residents may be eligible for the remission of their out-of-state costs in certain instances. Please contact the department of your major regarding non-resident tuition waiver scholarships. 

Nominations for UTA fellowships are made by the departmental graduate advisor and appointments may last for a period of two to five years. Students are encouraged to contact their intended graduate advisor about fellowship opportunities.

Fellowship Description
Cindy Atha Shira Simcha "Pay It Forward" Scholarship Established to support graduate students who have completed all or a majority of their preparatory education in a country outside of the United States and are enrolled in Music (Graduate Certificate in Performance/Voice Concentration), Psychology or Engineering at UTA. The scholarship is valued at $1,000 per year. This scholarship is made possible by a generous gift from Mr. Joe Bentley and is intended to encourage recipients to make the world a better place to live in through actions benefitting others. Students may apply through their respective departments.
The Michael B. and Wanda G. Ray Graduate Fellowship Michael Ray, Ph.D., and his wife Wanda have established a scholarship for students enrolled in either a Mathematics or Physics program at UTA. Interested students should contact the College of Science for requirements and deadlines.
William F. Pyburn Fellowship This renewable fellowship will be offered on a competitive basis to full-time graduate students pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in the Department of Biology, with preference given to students pursuing studies of natural history, especially in the areas of herpetology, systematics, ecology or behavior. This offer does not preclude any other financial aid. Interested students should contact the Department of Biology for application information.
