Dear Mavericks,
Continuing our progress in filling several of UTA’s senior leadership positions, we are launching the national search for the next Director of Athletics today.
UT Arlington’s Director of Athletics is responsible for providing strategic leadership for our intercollegiate athletics department, including our 15 NCAA Division I athletic programs, and collaborating across campus and throughout the community to promote the academic and athletic achievements of our student-athletes. Identifying a leader with demonstrated success and commitment to the core values of Maverick athletics is especially critical as we usher in a new era and transition to the Western Athletic Conference later this year.
The webpage for the Director of Athletics search contains more details on the position and includes channels for you to share your input and help us identify qualified individuals for this important campus leadership position. We appreciate your contribution to the search process, as your active participation supports our efforts to find the best possible candidate.
We have also established a 10-member Director of Athletics Search Committee. The search committee is chaired by Shelby Boseman, chief legal officer and University attorney, and is composed of faculty, staff, student-athletes, and other stakeholders. I am grateful to the committee members for their commitment of time and valuable perspectives.
I look forward to sharing with you the news of additional searches that will be launched soon. The executive searches website will continue to be your best source for updates on the various searches.
Thank you for your continued partnership on our senior leadership searches.
