What do you love most about being a college advisor?
I know the struggle to get information and guidance in the higher education environment is real. I’m a student, I’ve been there. I love being able to direct students to UTA’s various resources and guide them through administrative processes that they may not have even known existed.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?
I just graduated from UTA’s English Department with my master's degree, so it may come as no surprise that I love to read and write in my free time. I’m currently working on a chapter for a book that’s covering the global history and cultural foundations of the modern cinematic zombie. Always happy to talk students’ ears off about zombie lore!
Who is your favorite band at the moment?
Rise Against and Paramore will always be number one(s) in my heart. Alex Yost circa 2007 was really into punk rock. I’m on a major Greta Van Fleet/Måneskin kick at the moment, though. A little less punk, a little more funk. #RiseAgainst #Architects

What was the last tv show you watched?
I’m a major MCU fan, and the last thing I watched was the rather lukewarm Secret Invasion miniseries on Disney+. It was okay, but they could have done so much better. Come get advised by me and I’m more than happy to talk Marvel for 20 minutes then advise you for 10. For HR purposes, that was a joke (unless?...)
What is your favorite material possession?
I told you I’m a Marvel fan, so it should be no shock that my number one prized possession is Marvel themed. Behold my solid steel Captain America 1:1 movie replica shield autographed by the great Stan Lee shortly before his death. I built a custom shadow box for this baby and I’m gonna be buried with it like a nerdy Viking.
What is your most irrational fear?
I don’t really have any *irrational* fears, but my blood pressure spikes when I’m swimming out in the deep ocean, just knowing that there are major predators out there that can see me long before I see them. Google tells me that’s #thalassophobia, the irrational fear of deep, dark bodies of water, but I dunno, that feels pretty rational to me.
