100 businesses led by University of Texas at Arlington alumni were honored at the fifth annual MAVS100 Awards May 3 at Live! By Loew’s in Arlington.

The event highlights and recognizes the 100 fastest growing businesses led by Mavericks and shines a light on the impact they have on North Texas, the State of Texas, or the regions they service.

The ceremony was established by UTA’s College of Business and serves as a unique way to support alumni who continue to excel and make lasting impacts in their businesses and communities.

“What’s incredible about this event, is that 104 degrees from UTA are represented here tonight,” said Dr. Tamara Brown, UTA Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Our Maverick business leaders and entrepreneurs will be a key asset to ensure that we will deepen our involvement in the community and across North Texas. Events like this help us strengthen our ties while honoring and celebrating your achievements at the same time.”

During the event, Arlington mayor Jim Ross expressed his pride in the long reach of UTA entrepreneurs.

“For all of you entrepreneurs who started your dream when you were at UTA, if I was to tell you anything other than thank you, I’d say don’t stop being what you can be,” Ross explained. “Keep the dream alive, keep giving others the encouragement to do what you’ve done.”

All firms and businesses represented at this year's MAVS100 generated $782 million in revenue, with the top 30 generating $492 million. Each of the 100 businesses represented were ranked based on their revenue.

“In my last year of my MBA at UTA, I took an entrepreneurship elective and we had to write a business plan. I knew I wanted to start a business, and this was the perfect opportunity. Our goal with Bramport Supply Company was to handpick the best supplies for our customers,” said Andrew Feghali, Bramport Supply Company Founder,I’m really thankful for how far it’s come and excited to see where it’s going. I want to thank UTA not just for the great education, but also for the commitment to their students and their alumni. It’s clear UTA’s mission extends beyond just giving you a degree, but they care about the future of their students and alumni and especially their entrepreneurial success.”

The UTA College of Business hosts the event every year to honor and celebrate the success of our UTA alumni. MAVS100 brings alumni business leaders together to highlight the importance of their work to our community.
